Dr. Shiva Kumar

Dr. Shivakumar is one of the top renowned Gastroenterologists, Hepatologists and Endoscopists in India, recognised for his vast expertise in advanced endoscopic procedures.

Dr. Shivakumar has immense interest in Endosonography (EUS) and Advanced Endoscopic procedures like ERCP where removal of bile duct stones is required. Apart from Endoscopy, he also provides medical consultation and treatment for liver cirrhosis. Recently he has joined hands with radiologists for treatment of Liver cancers like TACE, RFA TARE and management of upper gastrointestinal bleeding BRTO in refractory upper gastrointestinal bleeding. Dr. Shivakumar was the first physician to perform ERCP in three districts at affordable costs. He was instrumental in introducing various therapeutic endoscopic procedures to the district.

He accomplished his MD and DM Gastroenterology from the prestigious and premier, Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) Chandigarh. He has undergone fellowship in advanced endoscopic procedure to gain further exposure and experience in advanced endoscopy.

Dr. Shivakumar is the first Gastroenterologist from Karnataka, to start speciality in entire four districts of Karnataka (Shimoga, Chikmagalur, Hassan and Chitradurga). He is currently associated with various centres of Sahyadri Narayana Multispeciality Hospital; Shree Sai Hospital, Holy Cross Hospital and Chitradurga Diabetic Centre.
